In terms of art and creativity, 2010 begins with the establishment of
Graffialismo in the area of Italian experimental art. This new artistic current, rich in expressive vitality and gestural emphasis, and spearheaded by dynamic young contemporary painter
Antonella Magliozzi, is enjoying both public and critical success, also positively influencing the new artistic generations mainly connected with sign abstraction.
Having already held a number of exhibitions in Italy, the artist is now moving further a field, and has enjoyed notable media attention in France, attracting plenty of followers.
The splendid setting of the
Gran Hotel Miramare in Formia, the former residence of the House of Savoy, will play host to the 22nd La Mimosa –
Anna Dolci Celletti International Prize on
International Women's Day, which will involve the participation of Antonella Magliozzi with her work entitled
La Vita in Rosa, which will be donated to the organizing company. The competition recognises Italian women that particularly stand out in the intellectual, cultural and social fields.
The originality of Graffialismo exalts the defence of the sign. On the canvas the linear strokes become genuine emotional trajectories that indicate a journey into the subconscious. Art critic Sabrina Falzone comments: "
The profusion of scratches, in the acceptation of creative discharges, emerges in excited ‘signic' synchrony through effective colour harmonies. The sensory explosions that result express the profound perspective of the self-taught artist, denoting an impetuous and highly instinctive temperament". They are scratches of the soul, scratches of memory, gestural scratches tinged with the voice of the spirit, produced with remarkable speed.
